Adapt IT has formed a strategic partnership with Motio that will provide more comprehensive, user-friendly and efficient Cognos solutions to its clients. The partnership allows Adapt IT to offer the MotioPI and MotioCI solutions as add-ons to Cognos, which will deliver direct benefits to clients, including: reduced Cognos administration and support costs; more balanced governance and autonomy; improved development processes, thanks to agile business intelligence (BI) methods; and governed self-service BI.

Corneil Lubbe, Senior BI Executive at Adapt IT, explains: “MotioPI is a community-driven tool which enables Cognos administrators, report authors and power users to rapidly perform everyday tasks that are traditionally tedious and time consuming. MotioCI, on the other hand, integrates with Cognos through each stage of the BI life cycle, from the initial development process to testing, deployment and on-going maintenance.”

Moreover, he adds, MotioCI provides higher performance, quality and manageability of Cognos through its unique blend of capabilities in version control, release management and automated testing.

“These Motio tools are in effect plug-ins to the standard Cognos Web portal, meaning we can even offer it to customers who have purchased Cognos from another provider. These solutions are designed to streamline many of the day-to-day Cognos administrative tasks that would otherwise devour a large percentage of the operations team’s time. Obviously, by freeing up members of the operations team for other duties, the Motio offerings improve a company’s overall efficiency and performance,” he says.

Lubbe adds that Motio solves real world BI problems through the practical application of well-designed software and simple services practices. “In addition, Motio delivers software solutions efficiently, predictably and accurately by focusing on a repeatable, lightweight process. This process adapts to changing requirements and stresses the importance of frequent customer feedback. As such, Adapt IT is eager to explore this partnership further.”

“We are aware that Motio has leveraged its experience to create a rich suite of products – beyond the MotioPI and MotioCI solutions - which extend, augment and streamline IBM Cognos. As such, Adapt IT is looking forward to growing this partnership and exposing our clients to the full Motio suite in the near future,” he concludes.
