Accelerating growth and development on the Copperbelt
By the end of day two of the three-day Caminex trade show, many exhibitors had already booked their stand for 2018.
“Feedback from exhibitors was extremely positive,” says Caminex.
Presented by Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery and nonprofit organisation The Copperbelt Mining, Agricultural and Commercial Show Society, the event, which was held in June at Kitwe Show Grounds, in Zambia, promised to provide exhibitors a platform to network, share ideas, build relationships and business partnerships, as well as showcase their products to the mining and agriculture industries.
The merger of Caminex and CBM-Tec trade shows this year in February created a formidable trade event that delivered the largest agricultural, mining and industrial exhibition on the Copperbelt, which stretches over Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The 2017 event set out to stimulate trade in the agriculture, mining and industrial sectors and it achieved its objective, says Caminex.
The show attracted over 4 300 visitors over the three days. Local and international exhibitors were able to source new customers, host existing customers at their stands and generate a high number of sales leads, notes Caminex, adding that
the success was not surprising as Fitch-affiliated research organisation BMI Research has forecast sustained growth in the mining and specifically the copper mining sector until 2021. Further, the Africa Investment Index 2016, published by investment management company Quantum Global, ranks Zambia as one of the top five most attractive investment destinations in Africa. This provides the country an opportunity for further diversification into agriculture, manufacturing and construction.
Caminex 2018 is expected to provide exhibitors with a platform to leverage benefit from this positive outlook.
