Name of the Mine
A1 gold mine.

Location
Eastern Victoria, in Australia, 23 km south-south-east of Jamieson.

Mine Owner/s
Kaiser Reef.

Brief Description
The A1 gold mine is one of the premier gold mines in Victoria. The mine is a significant high-grade asset that remains open to further mineralisation at depth.

Brief History
The A1 gold mine was discovered in 1861 at an outcrop known as Castle Reef. The mine has been in consistent production since then.

In January 2021, Kaiser acquired 100% of Centennial Mining, then owner of A1.

Primary Metals/Minerals
Gold.

Secondary Metals/Minerals
None stated.

Geology/Mineralisation
The A1 gold mine is situated within a north-west-trending belt of tightly folded Early Devonian sedimentary rocks. Mineralisation at the mine is hosted within or immediately adjacent to diorite dykes.

Reserves
Not stated.

Resources
Total mineral indicated and inferred resources as at December 4, 2020, were estimated at 477 310 t grading 4.74 g/t gold.

Mining Method
Ongoing mining is conducted using air-leg mining techniques targeting the high-grade gold ore. The intent is to expand into mechanised mining upon completion of successful underground exploration to delineate increased resources and reserves to support the operation expansion.

Major Infrastructure/Equipment
Ore is treated at Kaiser’s wholly owned carbon-in-leach processing facility at Maldon, which comprises a primary crushing and screening unit (jaw crusher) and a semiautogenous grinding mill that grinds to p80 at 125 um.

Further equipment includes excavators, graders, underground loaders, an underground drill rig, underground dump trucks, several light vehicles and fire tender.

Prospects
Kaiser Reef has developed a strategy to increase production in the short and medium term, targeting a larger disseminated area of mineralisation called the Queens lode. The lode is expected to facilitate mechanised mining to supplement and increase the production rate overall.
