3W Power/AEG Power Solutions, a leading global manufacturer of power electronic systems and solutions for industrial power supplies and renewable energies, continues to expand their product offering by locally manufacturing skytron® energy Monitoring, Management & Control solutions.

AEG PS entered into a partnership with skytron® energy in 2010, enabling the expansion of the range of services offered to provide service, maintenance and components for PV power plants across the world. With AEG PS‘ focus in South Africa being its Renewable Energy Solutions  product and service portfolio for PV power plants, the skytron® energy Intelligent Combiner Boxes with String Current Monitoring are an integral part of their Monitoring, Control and Supervision system solution for PV Power Plants.

skytron® energy provides monitoring and control systems for utility-scale PV power plants by means of a modular system of monitoring technology, which ranges from field sensors and combiner boxes, to data loggers and plant controllers, through to supervision of entire PV plants. With PVGuard, skytron® energy provides an industry leading standard for PV plant supervision. Also offered is application engineering for customized standard systems, leading-edge metering, operation & maintenance and asset management.

“Clients in the engineering, procurement and construction fields, as well as independent power producers benefit as their plant operations are always “in view”. This results in reduced downtimes, enhanced efficiency and yield with a secured return on investment”, says Trevor De Vries, Managing Director 3W Power South Africa.

Today, more than 4 GWp of total capacity installed all over the world, rely on skytron® energy monitoring and control systems for utility‐scale PV power plants.
