The 2019 exploration field programme is now under way at diversified explorer and near-stage producer White Rock Minerals’ Red Mountain zinc and precious metals volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) project, in which Sandfire Resources can earn up to 70%.

The 2019 programme includes a diamond drill programme to follow up on the 2018 discovery of new massive sulphide mineralisation at the Hunter prospect and to test the best of previously defined regional targets.

White Rock and Sandfire will also conduct selective down hole electromagnetic surveys to identify offhole conductivity anomalies, as well as detailed on-ground geological reconnaissance and sole geochemical sampling and detailed electrical ground geophysics on regional targets.

Under the earn-in between White Rock and Sandfire, the larger company could earn up to a 51% interest in the project by spending A$20-million on exploration over a four-year period, increasing to 70% by sole-funding a further A$10-million and delivering a prefeasibility study within a further two-year period.
