Martin Marietta Magnesia Specialties is a wholly owned subsidiary of Martin Marietta Materials and provides a comprehensive range of magnesium oxide, chemically precipitated magnesium hydroxide, and dolomitic lime products.
Chemical-grade magnesia is marketed as a process additive and used as raw material for everyday products, such as ceramics, paper and sugar. Magnesia Specialties markets agricultural grades of magnesium oxide for use in mineral premixes and animal feed, environment-friendly air and water treatment systems and a new flame-retardant product.
A significant amount of dolo- mitic lime is sold to the steel industry as a fluxing agent to help purify steel and extend refractory lining life.
