In response to this need Intelligence Transfer Centre will be hosting the 10th Annual Environmental Crimes Conference on 11 & 12 May 2022 at Indaba Hotel, Fourways

The purpose of the conference is to explore environmental crimes with a focus on compliance, enforcement and prosecution.  Representatives from governmental authorities, environmental law enforcement agencies and leading experts will provide meaningful insights, emerging trends, technological innovation and responses to environmental crimes with practical implementations and recommended policies.

Protecting the environment needs to become a fundamental priority, which is systematically enforced through compliance and regulatory frameworks this will work towards ensuring the future survival of humanity. Environmental crimes are the main factor contributing to the instability of eco-systems, biodiversity and sustainability. Fostering sustainable long-term practices will reduce vulnerabilities to criminal capture.

The conference will outline the main environmental challenges that South Africa is facing today. We will look at areas that are most likely to hold back the achievements of the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as G20 commitments and what action has been taken to combat these issues.  Industry leaders will be invited to engage with delegates surrounding issues of best practice and risk management to ensure compliance efforts are maintained.
