Tony Lennox

Tony Lennox is a mining executive associated with Orion Minerals, an Australian-listed company focused on copper and zinc projects in South Africa's Northern Cape province. He has been involved in advancing the company's flagship Prieska Copper Zinc Mine project, a brownfields redevelopment of a historic mining operation near the town of Prieska. Lennox has also been connected to Orion's broader strategy to develop the Okiep Copper Project in the same province, which targets copper mineralisation in the Namaqualand region. His role has encompassed engagement with stakeholders including government officials, development finance institutions such as the Industrial Development Corporation, and industry bodies like the Minerals Council South Africa. Lennox has been active in promoting the economic potential of base metals mining in the Northern Cape, a region that has seen renewed interest as global demand for copper and zinc has strengthened. He has worked alongside other Orion executives and partners, including major mining houses such as Glencore, to secure financing and regulatory approvals for the company's projects. His leadership has been central to positioning Orion as a significant player in South Africa's base metals sector. Lennox's career reflects the challenges and opportunities of reviving dormant mining assets in a jurisdiction with complex regulatory and socioeconomic dynamics.
