Rosatom

Rosatom is a Russian state-owned corporation that operates in the nuclear energy sector and is one of the world's largest nuclear technology companies. Headquartered in Moscow, the company operates across the entire nuclear fuel cycle, from uranium mining and enrichment to reactor design, construction and decommissioning. Rosatom is wholly owned by the Russian government and operates under the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation. The corporation's core activities include the design and construction of nuclear power plants, production of nuclear fuel, management of nuclear waste and the operation of Russia's nuclear icebreaker fleet. Rosatom holds a significant position in the global nuclear market, exporting its reactor technology and services to countries across Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe. The company employs several hundred thousand people worldwide and generates substantial revenue from both domestic operations and international contracts. Principal subsidiaries include Atomenergoprom, which consolidates civilian nuclear assets, and TVEL, which manufactures nuclear fuel. Rosatom also operates through engineering divisions such as ASE Group, which specialises in the construction of nuclear power plants abroad. The corporation was established in 2007 through the reorganisation of the Russian Federal Atomic Energy Agency, consolidating Russia's nuclear industry under a single corporate structure to enhance competitiveness in international markets.
