Eramet

Eramet is a French mining and metallurgical group specialising in the extraction, processing and marketing of metals and mineral ores. The company is headquartered in Paris and operates across five continents, with significant activities in nickel, manganese and mineral sands. Eramet is listed on Euronext Paris and is majority-owned by the French State and a consortium of French industrial and financial shareholders. Its core business segments include nickel production through its subsidiary Société Le Nickel (SLN) in New Caledonia and the Weda Bay Nickel joint venture in Indonesia, manganese ore and alloy production through Comilog in Gabon, and mineral sands operations in Senegal. The group holds a strategic position in the global nickel market, supplying battery-grade nickel for the electric vehicle sector as well as stainless steel feedstock. Eramet employs approximately 13,000 people worldwide and generates annual revenues exceeding €4-billion. The company has pursued partnerships in Asia, notably with Indonesia's Antam and China's Tsingshan Group, to expand its nickel production capacity at the Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park. Eramet was formed in 1880 as Société Le Nickel and evolved through mergers and acquisitions to become a diversified mining group with a focus on metals critical to the energy transition.
