Australian mining powerhouse Fortescue has formally rebranded itself, transitioning from Fortescue Metals Group to a more streamlined identity: Fortescue. This change mirrors the company’s evolution into a diversified entity, now encompassing integrated green technology, energy and metals.

Listed as Fortescue Ltd on the ASX, its ticker code remains unchanged as FMG.

The change was made following shareholder approval at the company’s annual general meeting held on November 21.

Underlining its commitment to a greener path, Fortescue has recently undertaken several green initiatives on national and international fronts. The green ventures include final investment decisions for the Phoenix hydrogen hub in the US, the Gladstone PEM50 project in Queensland and the Christmas Creek green iron trial commercial plant in Western Australia.

Further, Fortescue has expanded its reach into the realm of green energy investment with the establishment of Fortescue Capital, a New York-headquartered platform dedicated to accelerating sustainable energy projects.
