Bearings and engineering services company Drivetec Maintenance & Engineering’s key focus and product at its Electra Mining Africa stand will be the RKB range of bearings, which it imports from Switzerland.

The company is the official importer and distributor in the Southern Hemisphere for RKB Bearing, which has been operating in the bearing industry for over 70 years, with a monthly production capacity exceeding 350 t of machined steel.

Drivetec says RKB’S philosophy to keep capital-intensive stock is unusual these days as many companies are reluctant to tie up revenue in inventory, especially stock which is in danger of becoming outdated.

The company supplies bearings in sizes ranging from 250 mm to 1.2 m in diameter, which are required in the steel industry, sugar processing sector and the pulp and paper industries, and for a range of mining applications, such as mills and vibrating screens. RKB is also an extensive supplier of wind turbines, hydro and solar stations to the clean energy industry. Vanderbijlpark-based

Drivetec is also an official distributor for SEWEurodrive allowing it to offer drive solutions.
