Wheel and rim manufacturer Rimex is rolling out a new release of its tyre-pressure monitoring system, TyreSense, which electronically monitors and displays actuals running tyre pressures and temperatures.

The latest release of the tyre monitoring system, TyreSense 4.0, offers several improvements on previous versions, including a new full colour touch screen display for enhanced visibility and a low-profile housing to reduce cab clutter.

TyreSense 4.0 also boasts new client software that allows access to the application from any device using a Web browser with a network connection. The software provides comprehensive asset management that tracks tyres and wheels, along with automated sensor data reporting for lifetime performance information.

Other improvements include data correlation that provides equipment performance metrics across entire fleets, an enhanced user interface that delivers vital equipment information at a glance and an updated event system that identifies and relays critical equipment events to operators and dispatchers, with progress tracking from creation to resolution.

Real-time equipment location monitoring, with support for geofencing and haul-cycle tracking, is now also a feature of the new version.

“TyreSense wheel sensors endure the uncompromising conditions inside mining and industrial truck tyres to deliver precise, accurate data that protects and preserves wheels,” the company reports.

Rimex, which is exhibiting at the Electra Mining Africa 2016 show, is celebrating a major milestone this year: 40 years in the industry. The company states that, since its inception in the 1970s, it has evolved into a global leader in wheels and rims for mining and other major off-road industries and, in the last 15 years, has come to dominate tyre-pressure monitoring systems with its TyreSense technology.
