Malawi’s Department of Civil Aviation is inviting bids for the review and update of the country’s geodetic data and the production of aeronautical charts and maps.

“The assignment involves the development and production of air traffic services route charts in Malawi for the lower and upper air spaces, instrument approach charts, Required Navigation Performance/Area Navigation-Global Navigation Satellite System charts, standard instrument approach and depar- ture charts, and aerodrome obstacle charts, including electronic terrain charts,” says the department.

It states that the maps and charts to be developed and produced under this assignment will be expected to undergo validation and flight inspection.

Interested eligible bidders may submit technical and financial proposals, completed in accordance with instructions in bid documents obtainable from the department on payment of a nonrefundable fee of MK 20 000 ($50).

“The bidder may at his/her own risk make arrangements with the procuring entity for acquis-ition of the bid documents electronically,” says the department.

The deadline for the submission of bids is May 20.
