Colombia President Juan Manuel Santos is seen waving his way to the signing of an environmental land protection order at the Loma Seca Military Base, in Codazzi, Colombia. The order protects the lands inside the region’s northern Andean ecosystem from mining and agriculture. The area serves as a source of the country’s major rivers and any activity that threatens the water supply has been prohibited by the Presidential decree.
