Established in Sweden in 1989, GEFA System AB focuses on automated ventilation and combustion technology for the metals and mining industry, while also offering automated wastewater treatment solutions.

GEFA is a small company consisting mainly of qualified electrical and software development engineers. The company’s core products have been developed and designed based on GEFA’s ability to recognise its customers’ need for increased efficiency.

The company’s combustion technology is researched and developed in-house by its burner technicians and then manufactured locally in Sweden. After testing, the burner system is then shipped as a turnkey solution that can also include the company’s intelligent control system.

GEFA is currently also building new research and development facilities to stay on the cutting-edge of efficient and low NOx combustion technology developments.

Further, the company also supplies a unique on-demand ventilation technology, which it has designed and developed within one of the largest underground iron-ore mines in the world.

The company’s engineers can install this technology for its clients and work with mine ventilation engineers through consultancy contracts.

GEFA’s services and technology have been well established in its domestic market and the company has also offered furnace burner solutions in China, Kazakhstan, Spain, Finland and Norway.

GEFA recently installed and commissioned a burner system for First Quantum Minerals at its Kanshansi copper smelter, in Zambia, and has also provided a burner system for the Namibia Custom Smelter, in Namibia, and the Enami copper smelter, in Chile.
