PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed contractor CIMIC Group’s UGL subsidiary has been awarded a near A$400-million long-term maintenance contract from US energy major Chevron for work in the Pilbara.

Under the master contract, UGL will deliver front-line and campaign maintenance, brownfield execution scopes and turnaround events at the Chevron-operated facilities.

The contract, which has an extendable term of up to ten years, is expected to generate annual revenues of about A$40-million.

“We are proud to partner one of Australia’s leading natural gas suppliers and to support the local community. It is expected this contract will generate job opportunities, with around 300 future positions and we intend to fill as many as possible locally,” said CIMIC executive chairperson and CEO Juan Santamaria.

“We will also support regional businesses by sourcing more than half of our subcontracted services from the area.”

Work under the contract is expected to start in November.
