Lithium development company Argosy Minerals on Monday reported that it had completed the brine systems work at its Rincon project, in Argentina, where it is targeting first production of 99.5% battery-quality lithium carbonate product from mid-year.

The brine system works comprised the expansion of the pumping station and construction of associated equipment, piping installation, and plant settling ponds and establishing the brine production wells into the brine operations circuit.

The remaining 2 000 t/y production operation construction works entailed completing the processing plant, equipment and associated installation, and site construction, the company reported.

MD Jerko Zuvela praised the company’s Puna operations team for completing a significant milestone.

He also affirmed that Argosy was committed to achieving its upcoming targets and becoming the second ASX-listed battery-quality lithium carbonate producer.
