AusIMM and CSIRO will once again host the highly successful Iron Ore Conference in November 2021, bringing world-leading knowledge and technologies straight from the Pilbara to delegates in Perth and online.

Exploring the latest developments in the iron ore industry, Iron Ore 2021 will focus on ‘Sustainability in a Changing World’. With Western Australia accounting for around one-third of the world’s iron ore reserves, Perth is an ideal hub for bringing together experts and industry leaders to discuss the future of the iron ore industry and the continued supply of this valuable commodity.

This well-established conference will address the technical and management aspects of the iron ore industry along with discussions on genesis, geology, exploration, mining and processing of iron ores, and insights into reducing the carbon footprint of mining and steel-making.

Over three days, delegates will hear from global experts on the future of iron ore, bringing their insights to the world stage. Keynote speakers include: Robin Batterham FAusIMM, Professor of Engineering, University of Melbourne; Barry Fitzgerald, CEO Roy Hill Holdings Pty Ltd; Nicole Roocke, CEO, Minerals Research Institute of WA; and Alison Terry, Director Sustainability and Corporate Affairs, Fortescue.

AusIMM CEO Stephen Durkin said that a critical part of meeting the global demand for Australia’s iron ore was ensuring the continued support of professionals working in the sector.

“Australian standards of professional practice are some of the highest in the world, which contributes significantly to the strength of the iron ore industry globally,” said Mr Durkin.

“As the peak body for people working in mining, AusIMM are committed to ensuring that professional development is both current and accessible, securing the safety of workforce, the stability and sustainability of the industry and supporting innovation in iron ore best practice.”

The conference content will also be available through AusIMM’s online delivery platform, EventsAir, making this conference accessible for people all over the world. Both in person and online delegates can explore the conference exhibition, technological advances and technical papers, plus discover the latest innovations and meet with like-minded industry professionals.

AusIMM’s Iron Ore Conference 2021 will be held in Perth, Western Australia and online from November 8-10. Discover more here: https://www.ausimm.com/conferences-and-events/iron-ore/
