Aim-listed AfriTin Mining has announced five more drill hole results as part of a diamond- and reverse circulation drilling programme on the Uis mine, in Namibia, which focused on increasing confidence of existing lithium and tantalum mineralisation.

The results of the outstanding 20 drill holes will be provided once received, the company says.

Meanwhile, the latest results show that the drilling intersected pegmatite in all holes, with significant intersections including 90 m of tin grading 0.164%, tantalum grading 73 parts per million (ppm) and lithium oxide grading 1.40%, from 134 m to 224 m down hole; and 12 m of tin grading 0.159%, tantalum grading 182 ppm and lithium oxide grading 0.59%, from 115 m to 127 m.

This set of results includes some of the drilling programme’s most notable intersections of lithium mineralisation within the pegmatite intersections, including 76 m of lithium oxide grading 1.56% from 136 m to 212 m, and 25 m of lithium oxide grading 1.65% from 193 m to 218 m.

CEO Anthony Viljoen says these exploration drill results contain the highest average lithium grade for a full pegmatite intersection within the V1/V2 pegmatite orebody to date, with one of the intersections including a continuous portion of 76 m of lithium grading 1.56%.

He adds that the lithium grade of the pegmatite appears to increase with depth and says the company intends to further explore the down dip potential of this pegmatite on site.
