Volt Electric Motors to participate in Hannover Messe with special motors
Company Announcement - Volt Electric Motors, with European headquarter in the Netherlands, will participate in the Hannover Messe that will be held from April 13-17 in Hannover (Germany). On stand F32 in Hall 15 Volt Electric Motors will present among others its special motors as well as two series of high-efficiency electric IE4 motors: one line of so-called synchronous reluctance motors and one line of permanent magnet motors.
IE4 solutions
The IE4 synchronous reluctance motor has at least 15 percent less power dissipation than that prescribed by EC 640 for efficiency class IE3 from 2015 or 2017. In contrast to asynchronous motors, synchronous reluctance motors still have a good efficiency when they are not run at full load. This is very often the case in day-to-day operation practice, where many motors operated in speed-controlled applications mainly run at reduced speed. The motors enable extremely efficient installations while their low running temperatures result in high reliability and low maintenance costs.
The power dissipation of the permanent magnet motors is even less than those of the synchronous reluctance motor. This means that both motors reach future efficiency level IE4 as per IEC/CD 60034-30 Ed. 2 already today. The permanent magnet motor of Volt Electric Motors is exclusively operated with frequency converters and has higher performance levels than asynchronous motors of the same size making it fit for use on -for example- conveyor belts and other applications where several drives have to run synchronously.
Special motors
During the Hannover Messe Volt will also present some of its special motors. Among these special motors are a brushless permanent magnet AC type cooler fan motor with output power up to 750 W as well as a brushless permanent magnet AC type fan motor with output power up to 75 W and permanent ferrite magnets in the rotor. This type is fitted with an electronic sensorless speed controlled motor with a variable speed ranging from 1000 - 3500 rpm. The wide variety of the Volt’s motor program is proven by another special motor to be presented during the Hannover Messe: the special designed motor for industrial washing machines. These motors are ready for inverter applications and require no cooling fan. The motors have 2 washing cycles: 1000 rpm and 1250 rpm and a spinning cycle of 8900rpm. Finally, also a general use PMSM motor with output power up to 3 kW will be demonstrated. This motor has permanent ferrite magnets in rotor and radial placed magnets inside the rotor. For speed control an electronic sensorless speed controller is used with variable speeds ranging from 500 - 4500 rpm.
Standard motors
Apart from the special motors Volt Electric Motors will also present a selection of its standard electric motors. They are available in a wide range of frame sizes and efficiency ratings to meet the specific application needs of customers. With more than 100 specifications the general purpose motors of Volt provide value, reliability and predictability. Volt asynchronous electric motors are available in 2, 4 and 6 poles versions with a frame production range between 63 and 315 and a power range from 0,12 to 200 kW. Volt motors can be manufactured with B3, B5, B34, B35, B14, B9 and B15 mounting types. The motors can operate in vertical and adaptive positions. Based on the customers’ requirements, many options are available such as special shaft, various voltages and frequencies and more. Volt standard motor frames are produced according to IEC 60034 standards and are made of aluminum and cast iron.
About Volt Electric Motors
The European headquarter of Volt Electric Motors is located in the Netherlands as central point for distributing the motors to Europe making use of a first-class infrastructure. The in-house engineering facilities enable Volt Electric Motors to extend standard motors with a wide variety of options.
