TESCAN, building on the success of its TIMA scanning electron microscope mineralogy analyzer, announced today the introduction of the TIMA with the Automated Loading System (AutoLoader). The TIMA equipped with AutoLoader is the first fully automated mineral analyzer to permit robust, continuous and unattended sample loading. This newly pioneered design delivers unprecedented high throughput analysis, allowing accommodation of up to 100 epoxy blocks of 25mm or 30 mm diameter at one time.

TIMA with the new AutoLoader will enable mining experts to analyze an unprecedented amount of samples at one time, enabling their day to day research and exploration at a faster and more efficient rate. The AutoLoader design is the first commercially available system allowing unattended processing of such large sample sets. TIMA, a fully automated, high throughput, analytical scanning electron microscope is designed specifically for the mining and minerals processing industry. This new design can be used in daily, continuous mineralogy for mining geology/ore control, concentrators, leach operations, and smelter support. TIMA with the new Autoloader will increase the capabilities of technical service centers for mining companies, commercial laboratories, large drilling programs and pilot test campaigns. Tescan will deliver the first two systems in North America in January of 2014.

In combination with a highly automated sample preparation lab, TIMA technology can establish high-throughput and fast-turnaround automated mineralogy lab modules for mine-site production support. The Automated Loading System allows easy, efficient, continuous and unattended processing of large sample sets.

TIMA equipped with AutoLoader simplifies significantly regular ore characterization analyses, periodic monitoring of process efficiency and optimization, or detailed searching for precious particles in large number of samples. It can find its applications in processing of comprehensive projects as well as in analyses of a greater number of minor projects.
