Gold exploration company Emerald Resources has appointed Josh Redmond as COO with immediate effect.

Redmond will oversee operational performance across the group’s portfolio, including the planned full-scale development of the Dingo Range gold project in Western Australia and the Memot gold project in Cambodia in 2026, as well as ongoing underground mining development at the Okvau gold mine in Cambodia.

He joined Emerald in 2023 as operations manager for the Dingo Range project, which the company describes as a significant gold opportunity within a relatively underexplored greenstone belt, supported by expanding mineral resources and a clear pathway to development.

A mining engineer from the WA School of Mines, Redmond has more than 16 years’ experience in the resources sector across Australia, Brazil and Cambodia. Before joining Emerald, he served as general manager – mining and country manager – Cambodia for MACA, where he played a key role in starting mining activities at Okvau.

Emerald MD Morgan Hart said the appointment reflected Redmond’s contribution to the group’s operations.

“Josh will now manage operational performance across the group alongside our longstanding executive director, Mick Evans, who will utilise his vast experience in mining project development to focus on the construction and commissioning of the company’s Dingo Range and Memot gold projects to deliver our objective of becoming a multi-mine 300 000 oz to 400 000 oz per annum gold producer," said Hart.
