PERTH (miningweekly.com) - Silver miner MacPhersons Resources has increased the Nimbus resource by nearly half, taking the resource to 4.4-million tons, at 129 g/t silver, for 18.3-million ounces of contained silver.

The entire July 2012 resource had also been converted to measured and indicated class, which MacPhersons said was a significant milestone for the company, adding that the Nimbus project still had exploration upside, with mineralisation open along strike and at depth.

The project was expected to contain some 2.7-million ounces of measured resource and a further 8.5-million ounces of indicated resource.

“The continued growth of the Nimbus project is testament to the quality of the high-grade resource,” said MD Morrie Goodz.

“The conversion of a significant portion of the resource to the high levels of measured and indicated Joint Ore Reserves Committee categories is further support that Nimbus is well advanced in its feasibility studies in preparation for the road to production.”
