New Hope production on the rise
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Coal miner New Hope has reported an 18.6% increase in coal production for the quarter ended July, compared with the previous quarter, as both its Queensland and New South Wales operations lifted production.
Run-of-mine (RoM) coal production in the three months to July reached 3.9-million tonnes, up from the 3.3-million tonnes in the three months to April, while saleable coal production increased from 2.2-million tonnes to 2.8-million tonnes.
Coal sales for the July quarter reached 2.7-million tonnes, up 8.7% on the 2.4-million tonnes sold in the previous quarter.
For the full year ended July, RoM coal production was down by 12.7%, to 14-million tonnes, while saleable coal production was down 15%, to 9.5-million tonnes.
New Hope reported that for the quarter ended July, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) reached A$188-million, compared with the previous quarter's A$101-million, while full-year Ebitda was reported at A$372-million.
