Nev Power joins Future Battery board
Perth-based exploration company Future Battery Minerals (FBM) has appointed former Fortescue Metals MD and CEO Nev Power as a nonexecutive director.
Welcoming Power to the board, nonexecutive chairperson Mike Edwards said that his decision to joint FBM was a “strong validation” of both the company’s projects and people.
Power, who served as MD and CEO of iron-ore major Fortescue from 2011 to 2018, said he was attracted to the quality of FBM’s exploration assets, as well as the energy and talents of the executive team.
“This has seen the company achieve a huge amount in a relatively short period of time, and also holding a very clear vision of where it wants to go in the future. In my experience, these are the makings of an outstanding resources business and one that is already resolutely shareholder value focused,” Power said in a statement.
FBM holds the Kangaroo Hills lithium project in the Goldfields of Western Australia, near Coolgardie. It also has an 80% interest in the Nevada lithium project, in the US state of Nevada.
