Name of the Project
Mt Morgans gold project.

Location
The project is located near Laverton, in Western Australia.

Project Owner/s
Dacian Gold.

Project Description
An updated life-of-mine (LoM) plan has confirmed the project as a significant gold production centre with strong operating cash flows forecast for at least the next eight years.

Over the eight-year LoM, about 1.08-million ounces is expected to be produced, with the first five years averaging 170 000 oz/y.

The LoM plan production target assumes a combination of underground mining from the Westralia and Transvaal underground mines and openpit mining from the Jupiter, Cameron Well, King St, Mt Marvin and Morgans North openpits. All mining will be completed by contract mining companies, with Dacian Gold personnel designing and overseeing all mining activities.

Underground mining will use a footwall decline to access the ore horizons. A top-down ore-extraction mining method will use conventional mechanised sublevel longhole open stoping with rib and sill pillars left for void stability and ore dilution control.

Sublevel development is 17 m, with ore development through 4 m × 4 m drives. Minimum mining widths for stoping are 1.1 m, with 0.2 m dilution on the hanging wall and the footwall included in the mine design. Mining recoveries are estimated at 95% of mined stopes.

The LoM mine plan assumes a metallurgical recovery of 94.3%. The LoM mine plan assumes the Mt Morgan treatment plant has a throughput rate of 2.9-million tonnes a year.
