Members of the Middelburg community and local businesses have come together in support of Columbus Stainless Smile campaign. The project which is close to the heart of Columbus Stainless General Manager Human Resources, Jo Mabhena and Columbus Stainless Engineer Process Lines, Voltaire Dlamini seeks to donate 5 000 toothbrushes and toothpaste to Muzi Khumalo who is riding 161km to raise 161 000 toothbrushes & toothpaste for primary schools in the Steve Tshwete Municipality.
Ride4Change was one of the beneficiaries from the proceeds of the Columbus Stainless CEO Charity Golf Day where a financial donation was made. Dr Ashlynne Brown from Rossouw & Brown Dentists and Middelburg Huizemark are amongst the sponsors who have decided to support this cause with a generous donation. “I remember I only owned my first toothbrush when I turned 18 and it was second hand. Before that it was a normal occurrence to use a face cloth, sunlight soap and ash to clean my teeth. I do not want another child to experience the same. We really appreciate all the stakeholders that are joining in the campaign” Jo Mabhena.
