JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Diversified junior Metals X on Monday confirmed weekend speculation that the company was considering selling its Rover gold project, at Tennent Creek in the Northern Territory.

In a statement to the ASX, CEO Peter Cook stated that Metals X had received a number of expressions of interest from third parties for the copper/gold project and that it had engaged Prime Corporate Finance to deal with these inquiries in an organised manner.

Metals X was advancing Rover towards production, but said that the project was the least advanced in the company’s gold development portfolio and also the only project requiring a new processing plant and virgin mine development.

“For this reason, it has not been the priority of the company, but it is by no means a required or desired divestment. It remains material to the gold division’s asset base at this stage,” the statement continued.

Metals X stated that it would consider all firm offers for the project.
