Kingsrose sees Talga Santo restart in October
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold miner Kingsrose Mining on Thursday announced that the Talang Santo mine, on the Way Linggo project in Indonesia, would likely see production resume by October.
The company reported that development work had already resulted in some exposure of the high-grade hanging wall, revealing the bonanza grades that would underpin the project’s production as operations ramped up.
Kingsrose predicted that it would produce around 3 000 oz of gold during the three months to December, with production ramping up to some 20 000 oz of gold during the current financial year, ending June 2014.
By July 2014, the production rate was scheduled to reach around 40 000 oz/y of gold.
Kingsrose received written approval from the Ministry of Minerals and Energy Resources in June this year, allowing for operations at Talang Santo to resume.
The project is the second underground mine at the Way Linggo gold project, is some 17 km from project infrastructure, and has a resource of 287 489 oz of gold and 894 951 oz of silver.
Meanwhile, Kingsrose reported that it was stepping-up its exploration efforts at the project area, and noted that an exploration shaft had been started at the Talang Samin prospect, close to the Talang Santo mine, with the intention of gathering a better understanding of the project's potential.
A review of fieldwork conducted at the Way Linggo mine area would also be completed during the December quarter, which would result in the generation of new targets.
Kingsrose in July announced that it would suspend normal mining activities at Way Linggo, as ore production rates continued to fall.
