PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold miner Kingsrose Mining would start production at its Talang Santo gold mine, in Indonesia, after receiving final Ministerial approval from the Forestry Department.

Kingsrose told shareholders on Wednesday that the company would begin immediately to ramp up production from Talang Santo, which forms part of the bigger Way Linggo project.

“The grant of the final permit is a fantastic result, and allows us to direct our efforts on returning the Way Linggo project to full production,” said Kingsrose MD Scott Hufffadine.

He noted that the company would focus on implementing its three-tier growth strategy, aimed at building a sustainable, long-term and highly profitable project.

Operations at Way Linggo were scaled back in July last year, with normal mining activities suspended as ore production rates continued to fall. Later that year, Kingsrose announced plans to restart the processing plant, which would process ore from the  Talang Santo operation.

Talang Santo is the second underground mine at the Way Linggo gold project, is 17 km from project infrastructure and has a resource of 287 489 oz of gold and 894 951 oz of silver.
