Kenmare paid Mozambique govt $15.41m in taxes, royalties in 2021

LSE-listed mineral sands miner Kenmare Resources paid $15.41-million to the government of Mozambique as part of its tax, royalties and fees payments for 2021.

Kenmare operates the Moma titanium minerals mine, on the north-east coast of Mozambique. It contains deposits of heavy minerals, including titanium minerals ilmenite and rutile, as well as the zirconium silicate mineral, zircon.

Of the total, $6.16-million comprised taxes, $8.86-million royalties and $388 000 fees.

The portion attributed to Kenmare Moma Mining is $10.74-million, of which $6.16-million is taxes and $4.2-million royalties, while $388 000 comprised fees.

Kenmare Moma Processing’s portion comprised $4.66-million in royalties.
