Project Description
The project entails the construction of a new continuous annealing line for steel sheet in response to the growing demand for auto-motive ultra-high-strength steel (UHSS).

The line will be equipped with cutting-edge heat-treatment functions, allowing for the production of UHSS with high formability to meet customer needs. Together with the construction of the new line, Kobe Steel will also increase the production capacity of its existing pickling and tandem cold mill and materials handling equipment. The new production line will increase Kobe Steel’s production capacity of automotive steel to 240 000 t/y.
