Indonesia's Amman Mineral aims to double copper cathode output in 2026
JAKARTA - Indonesia's PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara, the main unit of Jakarta-listed PT Amman Mineral Internasional, aims to double its copper cathode output this year after it finished ramping up production at its smelter, its CE said on Tuesday.
In 2026, the company plans to produce 162 662 t of copper cathode, up from 79 848 t in 2025, its CEO Rachmat Makassau told a parliamentary committee.
The company will also produce 16 119 kg of gold and 45 439 kg of silver this year, and plans to produce 572 036 t of sulphuric acid, he added.
Amman completed its copper smelter ramp-up in April, after a few leakage incidents last year that forced the company to restart the commissioning of its smelter, Rachmat said.
"As of June 2026, we are able to process all of the output from the mine ... We are confident that all (copper) concentrate produced by the mine this year can be fully absorbed," he said.
He added in December or January, the company plans to do another shutdown of the smelter to conduct more repairs.
