IAS expects 2022 to exceed 2021 business levels
GiGi Investments Group CEO Graham Russell and ELGi Africa & Middle East head Mohammed Saifullah talk to Creamer Media at this year's Electra Mining.
With 2022 set to exceed business levels of 2021, compressed air solutions provider Integrated Air Solutions (IAS) says that tailwinds from the strong mining cycle and related projects have positively impacted the company’s business activities, as well as the recovery of manufacturing and industrial activities.
IAS is also the sole distributer of the ELGi range of air compressors.
At this year’s Electra Mining Africa exhibition, ELGi will be launching their new PG 45 Electric Portable Compressor.
Featuring advanced technology and a compact footprint, these eco-friendly electric compressors set a new standard in the portable segment, offering the benefit of quiet and emission-less operation across the entire range.
The rugged machines, which feature a TEFC squirrel cage motor with class F-insulation, are manufactured from industrial grade steel and powder coated canopy for maximum corrosion protection and durability.
Further added value delivered by the ELGi electric compressor range include, among others, best-in-class reliability, energy efficient air-end design, efficient air-oil separation, optional variable speed drives (VSDs) and more.
The company’s goal, says group CEO Graham Russell, is to remain “the easiest compressor company” to do business with, and to reach more customers who “appreciate quality solutions, highest levels of uptime and low total cost of ownership (TCO)”.
The company has also recently established its compressed air rental business, supporting customers who require short-term solutions for their air needs.
IAS is a specialist provider of electric-oil-flooded, oil-free and diesel portable compressors for all compressed air applications.
“We represent ELGi Equipment Limited, a vertically integrated compressor manufacturer with operations in over 120 countries, and with an installed base of over two-million compressors,” Russell says.
Originally a family-owned company founded in 1960, ELGi listed on the national stock exchange in India (NSE) in 1975 and boasts numerous achievements such as having developed the world’s smallest screw compressor and the world’s smallest oil-free screw compressor, and having also recently become the only compressor manufacturer to win the prestigious Deming Prize for Total Quality Management.
IAS also represents FS-Elliott, a leading US-based manufacturer of centrifugal oil free compressors that range from 900 cfm all the way up to 25 000 cfm, boasting several large installations in South Africa.
Commenting on what makes the company unique, Russell highlights the company’s reliability and uptime, which he says “are the foundation of what we do”, and its team.
Additionally, IAS excels in providing “proven lowest cost of ownership and best in class efficiency” when considering the TCO – a critical factor given both the capital cost of compressed air, and the high-cost component of power consumption in the lifecycle of a compressor.
Russell further adds that “the compressed air landscape is vast”, considering that air is required across all industrial market segments.
In particular, he notes that IAS’ oil free compressed air solutions find favor in cement, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage applications.
“Our oil flooded screw compressors which range in power from 2.2 kW all the way up to 250 kW are well received in heavy duty applications such as mining and steel production, but also in everyday manufacturing and engineering.”
ELGi diesel portable compressors for water well drilling application are also very well-known regionally.
