Hillside Aluminium donates R5-million to flood victims
As clean-up operations begin in KwaZulu-Natal, Hillside Aluminium (South32), has donated R5million to Gift of the Givers, the Red Cross and the Solidarity Fund in support of relief aid.
Vice President of Operation, Calvin Mkhabela, said: “Many families and communities were affected by the recent flooding and have lost loved ones as well as their homes and belongings.
Our thoughts are with everyone who have been impacted.
“This harrowing time for the province requires a show of solidarity and support to enable people who have been affected to start rebuilding their homes and lives.
“One of our core values as an organisation is CARE; and at times like this working together with all our relevant stakeholders makes caring become a reality.
Hillside Aluminium (South32) is donating a total of R5 million to the Solidarity Fund, Gift of the Givers, and the Red Cross to aid the relief efforts across the province.”
Mkhabela commended all stakeholders for working together to help the people of KZN. Ends
