Diversified major Teck Resources has resumed operations at Highland Valley Copper, in British Columbia, after the Logan Lake district lifted a wildfire evacuation order.

The Toronto- and New York-listed miner said on Wednesday that it was in the process of ramping back up to full production. Operations were halted on Sunday and employees were evacuated.

Teck added that its copper production guidance would be updated as necessary after the risk of further effects on operations from wildfires subsided.

The operation, located about 17 km west of Logan Lake, produces copper and molybdenum concentrates and its guidance for this year is to produce 128 000 t to 133 000 t.
