PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold miner Gold Road Resources has flagged operational issues at the Gruyere joint venture (JV), in Western Australia.

The ASX-listed miner on Wednesday reported a failure of a trunnion bearing, which prompted the shutdown of the ball mill on Tuesday, with the processing plant currently operating at a reduced throughput rate and processing recovery using only the semi-autogenous grinding mill.

Repairs to the trunnion bearing and an investigation into root cause are underway. It is currently anticpiated that the ball mill will remain out of service for three to seven days.

Gold Road told shareholders that Gruyere is expected to produce some 59 000 oz of gold in the September quarter, which is still higher than the 53 132 oz delivered in the June quarter.
