The Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development and public relations and events management company Siyenza Management will host the second Infrastructure Africa Business Forum at the Sandton Convention Centre, in Johannesburg, from July 16 to 18. This year’s forum is expected to be the leading business infrastructure event in South Africa.

The three-day business forum will bring together Africa’s senior business leaders, policymakers, regulators and the media to advance debate and champion the delivery of Africa’s infrastructure requirements.

“As the infrastructure provider and facilitator in the Gauteng provincial government, it is vital for us to be at the forefront of innovation, be it in the type of infrastructure we provide or in the processes to facilitate that delivery, including financing models and public–private partnerships.

“We see the Infrastructure Africa Business Forum as an ideal platform from which to facilitate a multisectoral dialogue on the continent, as well as on South Africa’s development needs and on innovative ways to overcome developmental challenges,” says Gauteng Infrastructure Development MEC Qedani Mahlangu.

The Department of Infrastructure Development is strategically poised as the implementer of the Gauteng Provincial Government’s socioeconomic infrastructure projects, including the building and maintenance of schools, healthcare facilities and community centres. It is also leading the provincial government’s drive to switch to green and renewable-energy sources.

The forum will also address the policy and regulatory framework to boost investor confidence and find ways of fast-tracking the pace of infrastructure developments.
