PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Manganese miner Kaboko Mining has conducted its first blast and mining operations at its Mansa project, in northern Zambia.

The junior reported on Monday that the first blast and initial mining operations was a major milestone towards the first production of high-grade manganese ore from the project.

A recently completed scoping study confirmed the company’s budgeted costs for production and logistics, with the cost of delivering a cost, insurance and freight (CIF) product from the project estimated at between A$190/t and A$210/t.

The study also provided the foundation for a Joint Ore Reserves Committee-compliant resource statement at the Mansa project, which would be completed following further exploration work, targeting the extension of the existing mineralisation zone, during this quarter.
