Engen, South Africa’s leading petroleum brand*, extends congratulations to their valued partners Supersport United who were crowned 2016 Nedbank Cup Champions on Saturday.

Supersport United clinched the Nedbank Cup title when they beat Soweto giants Orlando Pirates 3-2 at a packed Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday, 28 May 2016.

Brad Bergh, Engen’s Group Sponsorship Manager, said: “We are proud of Supersport United’s commitment to be the best. Their performance on Saturday will go a long way to inspiring our youth to believe in themselves and use the platform of football to live their dreams.”

Last week Matsatsantsa achieved a Top Eight league finish with a hard fought draw against the self-same Buccaneers at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto. This past Saturday, the men in Blue fought harder, ran further and covered every inch of grass to edge their more fancied opponents in the cup decider.

“It is this commitment and teamwork that elevates Supersport United. Engen, as their proud partners, lauds them for their sterling efforts,” added Tasneem Sulaiman-Bray, Engen’s General Manager: Corporate Affairs.
