The theme of this year’s Electra Mining Africa exhibition is ‘Make Connections That Matter.’ While networking is a great way to interact and exchange information, making real connections offers the first step to building the enduring and beneficial relationships that matter to business.

“Electra Mining Africa provides a much needed platform for buyers and sellers across the mining, electrical, automation, manufacturing, power and transport industries to connect face to face again at a live, in-person exhibition and presents a unique opportunity to develop beneficial business connections,” says Gary Corin, Managing Director at Specialised Exhibitions a division of the Montgomery Group. “Exhibitions in the modern world remain incredibly relevant and their importance cannot be underestimated in their ability to drive the recovery and reconnection of industries, sectors and economies.”

Businesses will be additionally aided in making connections and building partnerships at Electra Mining Africa through this year’s Business Matchmaking™ programme with its pre-matching of visitors and exhibitors, and the making and management of business meetings on site at the event.

Many local and international companies will make use of the large marketing opportunity posed by this year’s Electra Mining Africa exhibition to launch their new products and cutting-edge technologies into the market. Companies are eager to reveal their new products and the new industrial innovations and breakthroughs they have achieved, and Electra Mining Africa is the perfect opportunity to do this.

With machinery and equipment on display, the show offers a platform for buyers to get up close to the products, see the quality, speak to technical experts and view the live demonstrations. It also offers the opportunity to compare products and brands, with over 650 companies exhibiting this year.

In addition to the new products and technologies that will be on display, there is much learning to be gained at the event this year. Visitors to Electra Mining Africa can benefit from the accompanying conferences and seminars hosted by leading industry organisations and bringing together the best minds in the real economy to share their knowhow and experience.

The South African Institute of Mechanical Engineering (SAIMechE) will host a number of free-to-attend seminars presented by industry experts and aligned to the show’s theme days; automation, innovation, safety, future skills and South African Day. Some of the seminar speakers include Deon Barnard, Global Executive Heavy Industries at IoTNxt; Dawie Roodt, Director and Chief Economist for the Efficient Group; Lehlohonolo Molloyi, CEO of Mining Equipment Manufacturers of South Africa; Charles Siwawa, CEO of the Botswana Chamber of Mines; Kyle Graham, Director of Lifting Equipment Engineering Association of SA; Adi Stephan, Chief Learning and Innovation Officer of the Boiler Room; Tafadzwa Chibanguza, CEO of the Steel and Engineering Industry’s Federation of SA and Eric Bruggeman, CEO of the South African Capital Equipment Export Council.

The Society for Automation Instrumentation Mechatronics and Control (SAIMC) will also host a series of free-to-attend seminars which will be focused on automation topics. These will take place in the new Automation Hall at Electra Mining Africa.

Women in Mining South Africa (WiMSA) will host a workshop, focusing on innovations and processes paving the way for more women in the mining industry. Speakers will discuss how the mining industry is making inroads for a more inclusive environment. The Lifting Equipment Engineering Association of SA (LEEASA) and Lifting Africa will host a two-day educational and interactive event where delegates will have the opportunity to network with other industry players and related industries.

Electra Mining Africa is celebrating 50 years this year and with its informative seminars, co-located conferences, visitor activations, new product launches, live demonstrations, theme days, and Business Matchmaking™, the organisers of Electra Mining Africa are pulling out all the stops to create a great exhibitor and visitor experience not to be missed.

Electra Mining Africa will take place from 5-9 September at the Expo Centre, Nasrec, in Johannesburg.
