ConXtech, manufacturer of the modular, prefabricated ConX® structural steel building system, announces it is now a member of Fiatech™. Fiatech is a global nonprofit consortium of industry stakeholders chartered with identifying, developing and adopting new technologies and practices that can improve field safety, increase quality, accelerate schedules and reduce costs in the construction of large industrial and commercial projects.

The Fiatech community is comprised of industry thought leaders from the private and public sectors, as well as academia. ConXtech joins 70 Fiatech member organizations, which include Bechtel, Dow Chemical, ExxonMobil, Eastman Chemical, Siemens, and Target, as well as renowned research universities such as Arizona State, Carnegie Mellon, University of Illinois and the University of Texas at Austin, where Fiatech is based. The consortium engages in project-oriented research and development, networking and partnerships, and technology exchange. Fiatech also sponsors webinars, conferences and publications to discuss ideas and insights on challenges and opportunities faced by the capital projects industry.

“We are honored to participate in Fiatech and believe that adoption of new technologies and innovative processes are essential to making significant improvements in cost, quality, schedule and safety in the built environment. Fiatech provides an excellent collaborative forum to accelerate that adoption,” said Kelly Luttrell, ConXtech’s vice president of business development and co-founder.

According to Reg Hunter, senior program director at Fiatech, “ConXtech represents a technology pull opportunity… where an innovative solution gains traction in the industry by clearly proving value and satisfying compelling needs. ConXtech has shown through actual installation, assessment and analysis that it can create dramatic cost and schedule savings. The existing costs and practices for erecting structures are so entrenched that it’s presumed nothing can be improved, but ConXtech’s technology disrupts that perception.”

Mr. Hunter added, “Key Fiatech members are impressed by the history of comprehensive testing, analysis, process development and product refinements the ConXtech team has conducted to bring its innovations to the construction industry, and we are excited they are joining our collaborative community.”
