Drilling machine and equipment manufacturer Euroforgroup and engineering and construction machinery distributor BIA have signed a distribution agreement for the Furukawa and RTDrill brands in Central and West Africa.

This agreement aims to strengthen their presence in these territories, BIA announced in a press release last month.

For more than 40 years, Euroforgroup has been distributing drilling machines and equipment in France, as well as in North, Central and West Africa.

The company explained that Euroforgroup has made drilling its core business and has diversified its trading activities, through rental and training (Foraloc) and the manufacture and trading of drilling equipment (Technidrill).

The group also acquired two drilling rig manufacturers –  TM Bohrtechnik in Austria and Reichdrill in the US, in 2013 and 2017 respectively – which have merged to form an entity called RTDrill.

“By offering a complete range of drilling machines and equipment, Euroforgroup meets the most specific needs of its customers in the exploration, water drilling, special foundations and mining and quarry. Owed to the complementarity of the Furukawa and RTDrill range, the French group is positioning itself as the challenger among the world leaders in the drilling market.”

The company explains that on the strength of its expertise and experience, Euroforgroup places the customer at the centre of its strategy: on the one hand in product development and on the other hand in support and after-sales service.

“BIA and Euroforgroup, two family-owned companies sharing the same passion for client satisfaction and development of services tailored to specific situations, join their forces in West and Central Africa to expand their presence, range of products and proximity aiming at increasing customer satisfaction, both in the field of construction and in mining,” said Euroforgroup president Hervé Cohade.

BIA has been active since 1902 and is renowned for the quality of its products and services in the mining and quarrying, construction, transport and energy sectors.

Operating in more than 20 countries across Africa and the Benelux regions, the family-owned group distinguishes itself through the extent of its network and state-of-the-art technical facilities close to its clients’ operations.

The company continuously develops its capabilities and expertise to meet ever-changing customer needs, BIA notes, adding that it provides a range of solutions including equipment sales, structured financing solutions and supply chain management. It also provides maintenance and repair contracts, training as well as technological innovations to increase the safety and productivity of job sites.

“As a complete solution provider, we consider drill rigs to be an integral part of our offering for mining, quarry and construction customers. With its expertise in both product and application, Eurofor is a first-class partner complementing BIA’s assets. I am confident about the capacity of both the Eurofor and BIA teams to build a strong partnership that serves our customers better than ever,” adds BIA Group CEO Vincent Bia.

Sharing the same values and the same vision, Euroforgroup and BIA are sealing a partnership combining drilling expertise with an established and recognised network in Africa.

The two family groups aim to be closer to their customers by offering them a range of complementary products and technical support as close as possible to their operations.
