The Enterprise Mobility Forum (EMF) Awards, took place on the 30 May at the Sandton Sun Hotel, with the aim of honouring outstanding practice in the area of field mobility, recognising companies or individuals who have driven business change through the implementation of mobile solutions. Currently enterprises are confronted with the challenge of balancing the risks and benefits of the mobile enterprise, the management headaches of the BYOD trend, and the cost and compliance issues associated with an increasingly mobile workforce. The aim of the second EMF was to evaluate these impacts, assess the trends and offer solutions.

Vodacom walked away with the ‘Most Innovative use of mobility’ award for helping Nompilo Solution. This project enabled mobile and monitoring healthcare in Africa and created vast improvements in affordable and measureable healthcare across the population. Eskom also proved to be a mobile force to be reckoned with, when they won two of the three nominated categories. They achieved the best ROI and deemed the best in deploying Mobility Solutions.

The Enterprise Mobility field of experts is expanding yearly and those who influence and drive it forward are rarely recognised for the amount of time, effort and passion they pour into the industry.  This year Deon Maritz, Kraft Foods (Cadbury) was applauded for demonstrating visionary leadership and adopting best practice in the implementation of mobility technologies. The awards were judged by an esteemed panel of Enterprise Mobility Network board members.  All the awards were sponsored by platinum sponsor Samsung SA and partner the Enterprise Mobility Network.
