Tenova Mining & Minerals announced today that it held its inaugural southern African Client Symposium in Johannesburg on 3rd October 2013, around the theme “Pushing the Boundaries of Technology 4 Innovative Client Solutions.”

With its global headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa, and with offices in some 22 countries on 5 continents, this event was part of an ongoing process of holding regional symposia across the globe, with a previous symposium held earlier this year in Denver, Colorado, United States. The next symposia will most likely take place during 2014 in Moscow for the CIS Region, and thereafter, in Mumbai, India, for that region.

These symposia are held to provide a platform for all interested stakeholders to get together to share and discuss latest technologies and innovations for the global mining and minerals and bulk materials handling sectors, as developed by Tenova Mining & Minerals in recent times, often in conjunction with clients and other stakeholders. The audience included clients, major project houses, partners, academia, engineering consultancies and suppliers, financial institutions and media from the southern Africa region, which includes Botswana, Zimbabwe, Angola and Mozambique.

The two guest “key-note” speakers on the day, well known South African economist and strategist Chris Hart and globally renowned Futurist, Author and Strategist, Clem Sunter, together reinforced the economic and developmental importance of the global mining and minerals sectors, which ultimately, serve and benefit all societies in all countries.
