Company Annoucements:Conflow Continues China Export Strategy

Conflow, the specialist manufacturer of dust and fire suppression and water control systems in underground mining, will be exhibiting at China Coal & Mining Expo, one of the largest exhibitions in the mining calendar.
China Coal & Mining Expo takes place biannually in Beijing on 22nd to 25th October and brings together over 400 exhibitors from 24 countries and more than 40,000 visitors from the coal-mining industry. Mick Hollis, Sales and Marketing Director of Conflow, said: “This is part of our strategy to increase market share in China, which has huge potential for our systems to make mining safer. We are really looking forward to developing our business even further in China and the exhibition will play a key part in enabling us to do this.”
Conflow is exhibiting in the UK pavilion alongside ABMEC, the Association of British Mining Equipment Companies. This trading body represents designers and manufacturers of mining equipment. Conflow’s Sales and Marketing Director Mick Hollis has recently been appointed as an ABMEC council member. As a council member, he will be invited to attend and have input into planning, financial and policy meetings on behalf of ABMEC members. It is no surprise that China is a major market for Conflow, as the country has increased its output of coal by four per cent in the past 12 months and is now the second largest coal producer. The country also dominates coal consumption, with over 70% of its electricity generated from coal-fired power stations.
