Vertically integrated Cleveland-Cliffs has reached a tentative agreement with the United Steelworkers (USW) on a new three-year labour agreement, covering about 430 workers at the Northshore mine, in Minnesota.

“The United Steelworkers have demonstrated their unwavering support of Cleveland-Cliffs throughout the years, and this new labour agreement for Northshore further strengthens our collaborative partnership,” says chairperson, president and CEO Lourenco Concalves.

The agreement is pending ratification by USW local union membership.

Cleveland-Cliffs is the biggest flat-rolled steel producer in North America and as mine operator, also the biggest manufacturer of iron-ore pellets in North America.
