Perth-based Caprice Resources on Thursday announced plans to acquire a project in the West Arunta region of Western Australia.

Spanning over 1 479 km2, the Bantam project comprises four contiguous tenements, strategically positioned adjacent WA1 Resources’ site that hosts the Luni niobium/rare earth element discovery.

Since the Luni discovery by WA1, the West Arunta has become a hotspot for exploration activities, drawing the interest of various industry players, such as Encounter Resources, CGN Resources, Rio Tinto and Tali Resources.

Caprice chairperson Glenn Widdon says the company hopes to replicate the success of its peers through targeted, strategic exploration.

The junior’s stock surged 50% to A$0.03 a share following the announcement.
