Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi has added his name to the upcoming virtual Mining Indaba to be held from February 2 to 3.
He joins other Presidents, including South Africa's Cyril Ramaphosa, Sierra Leone’s Julius Maada Bio and the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Félix Tshisekedi, who have been confirmed as speakers at the event.
Geared towards building resilience and regrowth, Masisi will be addressing Botswana’s mining sector development including progress on production and volume in diamonds, gold, copper, coal and iron-ore.
He will also discuss new diamond and copper licensing opportunities and developments of infrastructure in Botswana’s western corridor to stimulate international investment and safeguarding investors through transparency and sustainable fiscal regimes.
The heads of State join CEOs from across the value chain on the Continuing Professional Development-certified agenda.
